Portrait is one of the main themes in my illustration. Whether they are self-portraits or a depiction of a monk, distorted mind or an unknown spirit, I aim to capture the momentum on the state of being. I am inspired by the traditional comic style, cubism, together with the ukiyo-e type of drawing in giving perspectives to individuals. I have experimented with shapes, lines, cultural symbols to discuss how identities, representation are made with visual symbols.
